PLANNED ACTIVITIES

Jamaican Adventist Association (JAA) provides summer camps, field trips, career services to needy students in New York City and the wider community through in person and web based on-line resources.

JAA is a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt non-profit organization that allows the organization to give letters to donators for tax deductible purposes and encourage more donors to assist the needy. One hundred percent of Jamaican Adventist Association (JAA) resources is dedicated to assisting the needy.

JAA’s activities are funded by public donations and contributions from charitable organizations. Core services include research and identifying educational facilities that are in need of upgrading and establish educational alliance that help to achieve strategic goals.

JAA has highly qualified staff who has been providing a wide range of educational and social service programs in New York City, as well as for underserved youths in Jamaica and the Caribbean as a whole.

JAA staff is made up of esteemed professionals with over 30 years of corporate experience in the areas of teaching, mentoring, education management, project management, healthcare services, business counseling, and career counseling.

JAA is a registered 501 (3) charity located in New York State that work closely with members of the Jamaican diaspora and other nationalities to raise funds to facilitate the building of early childhood centers, repair classrooms, build cafeterias and restrooms for underprivilege children is poor communities in Jamaica as well as in the larger society. The JAA collaborates with school administrators and assist in creating modern educational facilities that improve the quality of education in terms of whiteboard, computers, tablets and on-line teaching aids that enable to students to achieve their educational goals.

JAA’s mandate is to provide educational leadership, mentoring, tutoring, career counseling, and facilitate workshops on career developments for the advancement of underserved youths in New York City, and the wider community through our web based and on-line resources.

JAA is aligned with educational professionals who have been providing a wide range of educational products and services to New York City as well as youths in the Caribbean Islands.  JAA leadership is made up of esteemed educators, mentors, and care providers. President
Wesley Palmer
Ph.D., MBA

Dr. Palmer is President at Jamaican Adventist Association. He has a Ph.D. in Management and MBA in Accounting. Previously, he was an Adjunct Professor at Touro College, Kettering University, and Baruch College. Currently, he teaches at York College, CUNY. Dr. Palmer is an academic scholar and is the recipient of numerous awards for academic research and leadership. He is the author of several peer reviewed publications, include a text book on cybersecurity. He has published several book chapters as well as scholarly papers in international journals.

Dr. Palmer is an experienced professional with over 30 years of corporate experience in Financial Accounting, Business Management, Taxation, and Entrepreneurial Management. His expertise in these areas gives him the tools to assist nascent entrepreneurs with business registration, the preparation of their individual business plans, and hands-on training in small business management. Dr Palmer has been engaged in voluntary services in the community for the past 15 years.
